Oct. 14- Nov. 26  Student Impact Festival-John and Lance to Uganda/UK

John Garrick and Lance Briggs are back from Uganda! They worked alongside Kennedy and the students of United Faith Chapel to put on the second ever Student Impact Festival on the Kampala International University campus. This was a week of outreach, service, teaching, and building relationships. The week culminated Friday night with a public celebration featuring worship, dancing, drama, testimonies from students, and a Gospel presentation and invitation from John.  We are excited to see God’s work in and through the emerging generation in East Africa.

This time was unique for Lance as he stayed in Uganda for 6 weeks to work alongside Kennedy and the students of UFC as they engage their campus and community and make disciples and followers. He was able to visit Rwanda and Kenya as well.

After speaking, festivals and radio shows in Uganda, he taught in the UK and met with strategic ministy partners in London. Hear stories and see pictures through his blog. CLICK HERE!

October 2005:

I just want to know one thing… When can I go back? God has put a calling in my life to serve, just like he has for many people. The joy of serving on an Impact Team is hard to describe. But I know that God has called us to go and when we do, we will never be the same. Several years ago, God began to lay Africa on my heart. I didn’t know why. But after being there, I think I have a better understanding. There was a joy that I felt from the people the minute I got of off the plane. Their love, their passion, and their gracious smiles—those are things that I will never forget. God has begun to change my world view for his people and has given me a better understanding of the Great Commission. The last thing I want to say is this, if you have the means to go, then go. If you have the means to give, then bless somebody else so that they can go. Lives will be changed forever!

God taught me a lot on this trip. He taught me humility. He taught me that He is truly in control. He taught me how to appreciate things and experiences that were outside of my “comfort bubble.” Most of all, He reaffirmed that when I trust in Him, all things are possible. More than 300 people came to know Him, and I am truly blessed to be able to be a part of that.

November 2007:

As I ministered alongside the Ugandan college students, I saw in them such a love and passion for Jesus.

- Jennifer Garrick, Impact Team Member 2007

I am impressed and envious by these students’ thirst for the knowledge of God and the joy they have for Jesus that is so easily seen on their face. Truly the work that God is doing through EIM here in Uganda will have a long lasting effect for the Kingdom of God as these students graduate and become the doctors, lawyers, business owners and politicians of the many countries of East Africa. Praise God!

June/July 2008:

One thing that has impact me is how little [the Ugandans] have but how happy they still are because they have Christ...coming here has been a real humbling experience. I will probably never be the same again.

- Nancy, 17, Impact Team Member 2008

It’s been a life changing experience just being here in Uganda. I didn’t even think I would qualify to come here and tell others about Jesus because I knew how much I still needed Him, but He has been able to use me throughout this whole trip.
