Harvard University, Yale University, and Stanford University have all recently come to some conclusions that are of great interest. These prestigious universities recently partnered together to do a study on what is referred to as the “Gap Year Philosophy.” A gap year is a prolonged period of time (typically a year or two) between important life stages, most commonly between high school and college.
The gap-year is an opportunity for a young adult to develop oneself as well as to determine permanent direction occupationally for life. These recent studies show us that youth and young adults that take a productive gap-year are far more likely to reach overall success during their college careers and beyond.
Gapyear.com tells us that the most popular gap year endeavors include humanitarian projects, volunteer work, missions work and other forms of work to develop direction and discipline in one’s life. We believe Immersion is one of the greatest "gap-year" options available to young adults that love Jesus and want God to shape them for one year. Immersion becomes a great gap year investment because it combines all of these popular gap year practices into one Bible-based, Christ-centered atmosphere. This allows students to not only experience these various opportunities but to also form a lifelong foundation on which the building blocks of a bright future that awaits them can be built.
